An Effort to Maintain Equilibrium in Mankind

The world around us has it owns ways of unfolding itself. It is a culmination of Divine Energies and Cosmos working together in a timeless manner to Nurture life in all its forms which is beyond the vivid imagination of Human eyes and its powers.

We the mankind being one of the many elements in the universal cosmos living with the highest level of consciousness is on the helm of steering the functioning of the cosmos to the utmost discretion of the humans.
With greater feats in technological evolutions and its application on nature to manifest and transitioning to an environment which is as per the desirability of the human being by mitigating natures gift of uncertainties and bring it to its lowest level.

One such technological feats in the domain of medical science in late 1990’s is Obstetric Ultrasonography. Usage of this innovation is acting as an enabler for further deepening malpractices of Female Foeticides through Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnosis in the country.

Beings are advancing at a faster pace on material realm but deteriorating at the same pace on the psychological level. This is being reflected in the society, as there is a disharmony in the new artificial ecosystem co-created by these new advanced beings. With the declining trend in the sex ratio from 945 females per 1000 males in 1991 to 919 females per 1000 males as per the census 2011.

It is very imperative to deconstruct the underlying thought process at all the level of society where practice of female foeticides is still prevalent and exercised against the one’s own conscience. It is also astonishing to know that practices of female foeticides in Urban area are more prevalent predominantly in upper section of the society, due to availability of or abundance of resources which can be utilised to cross the lines and avail the services of Pre-Natal Diagnosis at various private clinical centres.

The upper section of the society in urban area still has a gender construct bias where in Girl child is still scaled against the parameters such as an object of utility and its contribution to the family. Which is quite demeaning as an act on part of humanity. It comes as shock when such things come not from the opposite gender but from the same. The other class of society backs claims of such practices with thoughts as cultural preferences to a birth of boy and poor social security system of our country.

To make the entire bio-diversity functions smoothly we need to acknowledge and respect the role play and the interdependence of each element of nature both in its forms and its functionality. If not respected it may lead to further social disorders and unfolding of bigger problems for the mankind which cannot be addressed overnight. Traces of such problems is being reflected in other range of societal malpractices like Human Trafficking to Domestic Violence due to cultural dissonance and other various reasons.

To stop such practices and sow fresh, reinstate and redirect the right thoughts with regards to Female Foeticides which has led to the birth of Samvedna Mahila Kalyan Foundation (Lucknow) in 2008. With its core motive of educating through a reiterative process of spreading awareness at various platforms regarding Female foeticides and how it can be mitigated via empowering girl child through education and better healthcare aid.
Samvedna Mahila Kalyan Foundation draws its practices of serving the society from Indian Ethos like Bhagavad Gita 17.20

dātavyamiti yad dānaṁdīyate ‘nupakāriṇe
deśhekāle cha pātre cha tad dānaṁsāttvikaṁsmṛitam

Charity given to a worthy person simply because it is right to give, without consideration of anything in return, at the proper time and in proper place is stated to be in the mode of Goodness.

At Samvedna our peripheries of services to the society are not just restricted to a state.
